Chateauneuf du Pape - French Wine from Corks Out
The village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape perches on a hill overlooking the southern Rhône Valley. The wines must contain no fewer than 13 red grape varieties and the producer can pick and choose the proportions depending on the quality of the vintage. The best wines almost always contain the top 3 grapes, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Styles vary from medium-bodied and fruity to dark, smoky and intense.
