Additional Information

The Vina Alberdi Reserva is bright cherry red with lighter notes around the outer rim.  This specially selected Rioja from long established producer La Rioja Alta provides an intense and fresh nose of raspberries, wild strawberries, mint chocolate and caramel, with a slight balsamic character. In the mouth, it is well balanced and structured, with flavours of sweet vanilla, wild berry fruits and a hint of of smoky pepper. Silky tannins and a vibrant, pleasing acidity make for a long, elegant finish, typical of Viña Alberdi.

We would recommend enjoying this with cured and grilled meats, game, and hard cheeses.

On the 10th July 1890, 5 Basque and Riojano winemakers created the \"Sociedad Vinicola de la Rioja Alta\", in the Haro Station district of Rioja's principal town. Their goal was to make wines of quality, which expressed the tradition, land and grapes of Rioja. To this end, they used both modern and ancient techniques to make wines which spoke of a certain place.

In 1941, the collective was renamed \"La Rioja Alta\", and a year later, under the presidency of Leandro Ardanza Angulo, they released for the first time what would be their flagship wine for the vast majority of the 20th century - Viña Ardanza. The winery underwent modernisation and expansion throughout this period, and in 1970, 2 further bottlings were released to the market for the first time - Viña Alberdi and Viña Arana.

The group now owns and operates vineyards in Galicia, the Ribera del Duero and has purchased other estates in Rioja, all of which share the same desire to produce quality wines which reflect the place from which they originate.
