Additional Information

Each bottle of the Veuve Cliquot Yellow Label 75cl Champagne comes in a stunning sliding gift box. The House of Clicquot was founded in 1772 with the first shipment to the UK in 1778, yes, we have been drinking it for that long.  It was also the first house to produce a Vintage from the region in 1810.  Madame Clicquot built its reputation as the most innovative house in Champagne.

A refreshing, delicate Champagne with a lovely stream of tiny bubbles running through the glass, the assemblage is two thirds Pinot Noir/Pinot Meunier and one third Chardonnay, the fruit and backbone coming from the black grapes and the floral delicate elegant character coming from the Chardonnay.  The palate isn’t heavy or too dry, therefore, perfect as an aperitif or with a shellfish starter.

Appearance- Golden-Yellow, Tiny bubbles

Aromas- Fruity (Peach, Mirabelle plum, Pear) Vanilla, Toasty (Brioche)

History of Veuve-Clicquot Champagne

The Veuve Clicquot vineyards cover 393 hectares of land belonging to Veuve Clicquot to supply grapes to the House. It spreads over the very best Champagne growth areas: 12 of the 17 Grands Crus and 18 of the 44 Premiers Crus. The vineyards boast an exceptional average classification of close to 96%, a ranking that is based on the winegrowing properties of the terroir and the quality of the grapes produced.

The vines are mostly planted on the hillside where the soil is the shallowest and exposure to the sun is at a maximum.

We also stock the Veuve Clicquot Rose Champagne.
