Additional Information
The Sumarroca Cava Gran Reserva expresses notes of pastries, brioche and richness however, on the palate this is balanced out with fresh fruits. There is a fine fizz to the Cava making it easily enjoyable as an aperitif.
Cava should be high on anyones wishlist offering the textured, rounded and appealing palate similar to Champagne while sharing the price tag of a good Prosecco.
Cava is produced using the same method as Champagne; 2nd fermentation is in bottle. However, the grapes used are more native to Spain. Composed of a blend of 4 grapes with a minimum ageing of 20 months allows this wine to compete with the very best of what Champagne has to offer. All 4 grapes are fermented separately to allow each cuvee to show its true colour; this is essential to the blend to allow the Cava to be the fullest expression it can be.
