From the Clare Valley in Australia this vintage wine has made wine history over the years and is known by some as the best wine to come from the region.

The palate is a rich tapestry of enjoyment and fulfi lment with fl avours of raspberry, strawberry and boysenberry with the closing argument of star anise, rosemary, spearmint and clove.

A family business to this day - The history of Jim Barry:

Jim Barry was the 17th qualified winemaker in Australia and the first qualified winemaker to work in the Clare Valley. Jim met Nancy in 1950 and married a year later.  Wanting to start their own label they started producing wine under Jim Barry Wines in 1959.

Peter Barry has presided over many significant developments at Jim Barry Wines since becoming Managing Director in 1985. He undertook his first vintage at the family’s business in 1977 and returned to the winery in 1982 after completing his Oenology Degree at South Australia’s Roseworthy Agricultural College.

Tom Barry is a third generation winemaker at Jim Barry Wines. He graduated from the University of Adelaide Waite Campus (formally Roseworthy Agricultural Collage) with the same degree in Oenology that his late grandfather Jim received sixty-three years earlier and his father in 1985. Jim Barry Wines is the first family owned winery in Australia to have three generations of Roseworthy/Waite graduates.

The Barry family name is synonymous with the Clare wine region and their deep ties to the local community continue to this day.
