History of Bodegas y Viñedos Tamaral
When Bodegas y Viñedos Tamaral was founded in April 1997, it was a dream come true for the Santiago family, who for four generations have tended vineyards and made wine. Soon afterwards, a winery was opened in the Payment of Tablares under the watchful eye of the Wine Museum and in the very heart of the Ribera del Duero Denomination of Origin.
Very shortly after the harvest of that year, the wine-making process started and our very first wine was victorious in the young wine category of the 8th National wine-tasting competition, the 'Zarcillo Awards'. It was also awarded other national as well as international prizes including the 'Bacchus Awards', demonstrating how highly the wines were regarded.
These awards act as an incentive for them to keep on improving, and they believe that their wines are still getting better year on year the combination of the highest technology and the most traditional methods help them achieve the quality they aspire to.
The constant efforts towards improvement has led them to more awards; 67 international prizes to date, yet undoubtedly the best reward for the whole team at Tamaral Wineries and Vineyards is knowing that the customers have the chance to enjoy our intense full-bodied wines, making us even more determined to carry through this exciting project.
