Bright cherry red with purple tinges. Rich, spicy plum fruit aromas with hints of black cherry and strawberry and an underlying touch of savoury. Mouthfilling fruit with ripe plum and cherry flavours and hints of spicy and savoury complexity. Enjoy it with a creamy risotto, or pasta with duck ragu.

Vineyards were first established in Tasmania during colonial settlement. Only in relatively recent years, however, has viticulture emerged in the beautiful Tamar Valley to forge a reputation for varietal and sparkling wines of the highest quality.

In less than a decade Tamar Ridge Wines has established its own acclaimed success story as part of Tasmania’s modern wine industry. The first vines were planted at Tamar Ridge in 1994, and the first vintage was released five years later in 1999. The company continues to grow strongly and is today a leading producer of Tasmanian cool climate table wines with sales in every Australian state and a growing list of export markets.

  1. Bloody Brilliant!

Posted by Kieran on 3rd May 2011

There’s a touch of spice which adds a savoury element and absolutely no hint of confection which some fruitier styles can be prone to. This is just an elegant, beautifully balanced wine. And it’s not just me; James Haliday gives it 89/100 in his 2011 Australian Wine Companion describing it as a ‘mightily impressive wine’. I’d say that’s a pretty good rate of return for just over £12 on a Pinot Noir.
