This rum is aged for an average of 6 years in bourbon barrels (as the Gran Anejo is) and then charcoal filtered to get rid of the colour. Has the depth of flavour you’d expect from a dark rum with the creaminess of a white one. Cracking stuff!
History
The history of Ron Barceló started in 1930 with a young man’s dream of starting his own Licorera; born in Mallorca, Spain, Julian Barceló arrived that year to the Dominican Republic. It did not take long the Barceló brand to become an essential reference among local rum brands growing into one of the biggest and most prestigious Dominican companies. During the 80’s Ron Barceló became the number one preferred national rum and the company realised that it was destined to expand beyond the Caribbean and America and started a very successful internationalisation process in 1992 with very satisfactory results. By 1994 it was exported to over 10 countries with Spain being the main market. In 2000 BAINSA (Barceló Commercial Internacional) sprung fourth as a strategic alliance that allowed Spanish entrepreneurs and Barceló Co to bring the quality of Ron Barceló to every country in the world. Ron Barceló is a part of the WIRSPA (West Indies Rum & Spirits Producers’ Association) true rum campaign
