Both rich and refreshing on the palate, with flavours of citrus fruit, cream and toasted brioche, supported by good acidity and excellent length of flavour.
Pair with lobster, crab or spicy dishes.
Pol Roger remains a family-owned and proudly independent champagne house. Founded in 1849, it continues to produce excellent vintage champagnes that we are proud to sell. Pol Roger reserve their declarations of a vintage for years in which climatic, viticultural and winemaking components all come together to make it possible to produce the finest champagne. The vintage blend is traditionally 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Cête des Blancs.

Am just enjoying a bottle of the 2000 vintage champagne. It feels special - starts with the bottle which just looks beautiful. Then the champagne itself is complex, balanced and beautiful. It tastes like a smooth complex wine rather than the on dimensional flavours you get with so many champagnes. If I can justify the expense of another bottle, I think I will be having one soon!

I served this champagne with some Indian themed canapes and it surprised me just how good the two tasted together! A great tip from the store manager, thankyou.
