Loading... Please wait...On the nose, the Monte Da Peceguina Branco 2010 has aromas of peach and apricot combine with those of honeysuckle, with an underlying mineral streak. On the palate it is both fresh and powerful, with smoke and buttery notes mingling with those of fresh citrus fruit, coupled with good acidity and a long, persistent finish.
Pair with fleshy fish or roast chicken.
In 1998 the first 20 Ha of vines were planted at Maladinha Nova, with red varieties Aragonês, Trincadeira, Syrah and Alicante Bouschet, as well as some white grapes Arinto and Antão Vaz and Síria. This was overseen by consultant winemaker Luís Duarte. The winery was completed in 2002 and is totally geared to quality, small batch wine making, including the use of open top shallow fermenters where grapes are trodden, and using gravity for wine flow as much as possible. Their first full harvest was in 2003, and since then they have never looked back, with the Monte Da Peceguina Branco 2010 being a fine result.
