In 1774 Thomas Grant began making liqueurs including Morella Cherry Brandy in Kent, the brand now being owned by Shepherd Neame, Britain's oldest brewer, founded in 1698. Grant's Morella Cherry Brandy is still produced to the highest possible quality and continues to maintain the flavour and tradition of its celebrated past. The liqueuer holds a Royal Warrant from The Prince of Wales, is mentioned in The Pickwick Papers and was also a favourite tipple of Queen Victoria, whose portrait appears on the packaging to this day.
Brown or soft red in colour, this liqueur has a nose with hits of fruity almond aromas. The palate is sweet without being sickly with good, fresh sour cherry fruit. Further almond notes add a hint of bitterness and complexity.
