The Quinta da Giesta (Quinta means estate, like the French would use the word chateau) lies in the mountainous Dao region, in central northern Portugal. The white wine here is unoaked, dry and succulent, getting plenty of its flavour from the local Encruzado grape. It actually goes best with smoked fish dishes (mackerel, salmon, etc), but is quite at home with shellfish too.
