Franschhoek Cellar The Churchyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Dense crimson in colour, and full aromas of dark berry fruit, with a menthol and smoky note. On the palate, full yet approachable, with flavours of dark chocolate, blackcurrant and toasted, creamy oak. Serve with roast lamb, rare fillets and game.

Franschhoek Cellar was founded in 1945 by a group of local grape farmers to vinify their grapes on a co-operative basis.

In recent years, Franschhoek Vineyards has shed the old co-op image and is currently operating as a private winery; this new image has initiated a drive to produce quality wines at affordable prices. The excellence of the wines produced has improved significantly over the past three years.

A serious wine but very approachable – try it with roast lamb.
