Loading... Please wait...Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc 2011 is Bright straw green in aspect, with a beguiling nose of ripe citrus and tropical fruit, supported by some notes of basil and minerals. Fresh and full bodied on the palate, with vibrant goosberries, nettles, cut grass, gala melon and apple. Well structured, with fresh acidity and a long finish, serve with white meats, pale cheeses and seafood.
Dog Point Vineyard combines the considerable wine-growing experience of Ivan and Margaret Sutherland and James and Wendy Healy. Their philosophy is total involvement by the partners from the vineyard through the winemaking process to marketing regionally distinctive and vineyard expressive wines. Marlborough's Wairau Valley is home to Dog Point and the major grape growing region of New Zealand, a confined geographical area at the northern tip of the South Island. Abundant sunshine, low rainfall and cool autumn nights characterise their long growing season, enabling the slow evolution of a rich array of vibrant fruit flavours. Fruit for their wines is sourced from selected vineyard plantings dating back to the late 1970's. These older well-established vines situated on free draining silty clay loams are supplemented with fruit from closely planted hillside vines with a clay loam influence.

If you are looking for a New Zealand Sauvignon then this is your wine, great alternative to Cloudy Bay and much better value.

One of the best NZ Sauvignons around!! Zesty, zippy and zingy with loads of gooseberries and scents of herbaeous borders. A cracking wine.
