Chateauneuf Du Pape Dom La Boutiniere
Very clean, soft with sweeter fruit. A lot of dark notes with tobacco, spice and a dark fruit finish. Very balanced and very good.
Founded by Félix Vidal in 1920, Frédéric Boutin took over control in 1997 becoming the fourth generation family member on the property. The 10 hectares of Chateauneuf du Pape are divided between 8 different parcels in La Crau, Le Boucou, Coste Froid and Roumiguiere. A further 2 ha in the Courthezon area contribute towards the Vin de Table. The vines have an average age of 70 years and all 13 varieties are represented.Until 1981 the entire yield was sold to negociants but now only 20-30% of the production is sold in this way. Frédéric Boutin is very fastidious and will only bottle wines that conform to his high standards.
