Château Saint-Jacques, a Bordeaux Supérieur, comes from a small plot of vines bordering Château Siran in Margaux. Over the centuries, river alluvia have covered the gravel to give a clay soil, which produces well-balanced wines deep in structure. The grape varieties are 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot and 23% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are harvested by hand, and are sorted twice before being vinified under the advice of the oenologist Denis Dubourdieu. The ageing in oak barrels lasts 6 to 8 months.
