Grillo, originally a grape from Puglia, grows well in hot climates with dry summers. Sicily is perfect for the growth of this grape at the western tip of Sicily, in Petrosino, Trapani and Marzara del Vallo areas. Un oaked, this characterful white with a light citrussy nose, rounded melon and apple notes on the palate, a touch of spice, and a fresh, savoury finish. Set up in 2003, Adria Vini owned by Boutinot and Araldica Vini Piemontesi, the leadingco-operative in Piemonte. All aspects of production, from grape harvesting through to vinification, maturation, blending and bottling are overseen by Araldica's Claudio Manera and Lella Burdese. The aim is to produce a range of authentic, well-priced wines from local Italian grape varieties.
