Please wait...The Bas Armagnac Dartigalongue VSOP is a rich amber color, with aromas of caramel buttercream, roasted nut nougat, and dried autumn fruits with soft, silky fruity-yet-dry medium body. The finish is juicy fall fruit, bubblegum dust, wet limestone, with an accent of cigar wrapper. A nice fruity, easy drinking Armagnac that is sure to please.
Maison Dartigalongue is in the Armagnac region of Gers in the heart of Gascony. The area wich holds the "appelation controlée" comprises a large part of the Gers region and certain surronding distrints in the Lot et Garonne and the Landes regions. The "appellation controlée" is divided into the Bas Armagnac, The Tenareze and the Haut Armagnac.
Dartigalongue was established in 1838 and it is now run by the fifth generation of the family. It stands as the oldest and most respested house in the Bas-Armagnec. Their Brandies are distilled exclusively from grapes produced in the Bas-Armagnac region. As with the Grande Champagne in Cognac, the Bas-Armagnac produces the finest Armagnac. The spirits are aged to perfection in oak casks and are only bottled or blended just before shipping.
