The Amarone Allegrini 2008 is intense ruby red in colour, with characteristic perfumes of dried cherries, spicy and powerful which gives way to a wonderful fusion of concentrated dried fruits, currants and raisins, with toasted oak and vanilla, and notes of spiced, sour cherries on the finish.
This Allegrini Amarone 2008 goes well with game, roasted and grilled meats, casseroles and well matured cheeses.
The vineyards that produce the grapes for the vinification of Amarone are located in the Valpolicella Classica hillside area. Fieramonte, Monte dei Galli, Carpan, Scornocio and Volta are located at about 250 m a.s.l. and have a prevalently south eastern exposure to the sun. Some of these vineyards produce grapes for the production of Valpolicella Classico. The climate is mild and temperate, thanks to the presence of the Lessinia high plateau and the Dolomites to the north and the vicinity of Lake Garda, which further improves the climate. The terrain is sufficiently rich in various minerals. Planting is realised with the arbour system, with about 3,000 vines per hectare, thereby permitting perfect ripening of the grapes, which are earmarked for drying. This is an excellent Allegrini Amarone and is highly recommended.
