In 1993, Georg Riedel invited a distinguished panel of Chianti producers to join him for a series of workshops and tastings. Their aim was to develop the ideal glass shape to highlight all the nuances and complexity exhibited by Chianti. The resulting shape, the Riedel Chianti glass, tempers the alcohol, accentuates the rich berry and spice characteristics of Chianti, while gently interweaving the acidity, tannin and fruit to create the perfect balance of components. Recommended for: Zinfandel, Chianti. (Please note that this is the same shape as the Riesling glass.)
