Tempranillo is considered the most important variety for quality red wines in Spain and the dominant variety in Rioja; however, it is often assumed that all Rioja is of superior quality. Once again, just like some of the other classic wines, it’s more about the producer than the area. Navarra, right next door to Rioja often gets overlooked and often makes outstanding wines that knock the socks off Rioja. This lovely little beauty is made entirely from Tempranillo, grown in Finca El Bosque. The wine was aged in American oak casks, where it gained finesse and elegance, rounding up in the bottle. Good structure, fine fruit, balanced ripe tannins and elegant, fresh finish.
Ideal with grilled meat, stew and cured cheese.
