Luminous straw in color. Crisp green apple and delicate white peach nose with citrus characteristics, including nectarine and lemon. The palate leads with crisp, clean notes of peach, apricot and pineapple. Classically characteristic of Matanzas Creek Chardonnay, both the nose and the palate exhibit just a slight hint of smoke resulting from basalt, an ancient ocean floor rock found in Bennett Valley soil. Despite this signature characteristic, this wine is far from a smoky, buttery wine.
