Dark, golden brown with characteristic Madeira bouquet of raisins, toffee and nuts. Sweet with a rich, full bodied, honied and complex finish and beautifully balanced acidity.
Cossart Gordon 5 YO Malmsey is fined and filtered and does not require decanting. It is a fine acocmpaniement to dessert dishes, especially fruit, cakes, rich chocolate puddings and cheeses. It will not improve with keeping but will remain in good drinking condition for several months after opening.
