Raymond Dupont-Fahn is the son of Michel and Leslie Dupont-Fahn of Meursault fame. Inheriting more than land from his parents and grand-parents, he has discovered that same touch of genius that sets them apart from all but the very best growers. Here again, we have wine so obviously made from ripe fruit that, combined with early bottling and no refrigeration, it ensures that the wines are ready to drink as soon as you like. This is much more difficult to achieve than might be supposed. The name Bourgogne Chaumes des Perrières alludes to Meursault Premier Cru les Perrières, the vineyard once owned by Raymond's grandfather. Most unfortunately, the top-soil was changed some years ago and the right to the Appellation lost. This disaster has proven to be our gain for the quality of the wine is so outstandingly and obviously stunning that it is proof positive that terroir is more than skin deep! Do not pass it by.
