Philippe Herard SA was founded in the early 70's by a Champagne grower with a natural understanding of how to make a small-bead sparkler without the often overpowering influence of the traditional vine varieties used in most AOC sparkling wines. In 1996 the busines was sold to another Champagne vigneron who immediately instigated a programme of improvement to both cellars and equipment which now have a production capacity of about 1 million bottles per year. They also make small quantities of a superb rose.
Fermented in wood giving added body depth and complexity.
