I called into the Stockton Heath shop and was delighted to see on taste a bottle of SASSICAIA 2007.

I had that very morning been reading about Decanter man of the year Giacomo Tachis what a coincidence!!

I just had to try it!!

I was one of the first so there was a little trepidation but upon tasting it I was delighted.

What a great opportunity to try such an iconic wine, I would recommend it but get there before it goes.

"I have not missed any of your Summer and Christmas wine tasting events since you started and before last night's event I was wondering whether you could maintain the high standard you have set over the last few years.
As usual I called at the shop before the event to pick up the list of wines for last night's tasting to compare them with the last 2 years, so I could focus on wines I had not tried before. I could find very, very few that I had tried before, so my selection for the evening was large. Bearing in mind my selection focuses on whites, for as you know my palate unfortunately does not easily take to reds, the choice for the evening was immense. In the event, I could not get round all the tables to try all the whites I had selected and missed out 9 of the 22 tables, because I ended up tasting other wines that your knowledgeable staff and the wine experts you had available made me appreciate, including some reds.
I don't know how you achieved it, but I think last night exceeded your previous excellent events. It was a fantastic evening and I would appreciate a re-run, so I can fill in all my outstanding gaps, but I shall have to hope a few may be repeated at November's tasting.

"An interesting and different selection of wines.
Obviously I wanted to have a nose at the new Corks Out store but I also had a particular task in hand. Having been struggling to track down someone online who could ship a case of good quality wine to Switzerland I contacted Corks Out head office last week who were very helpful. I received a warm welcome from the manager Katie Butler today who was expecting me and had been given details of what I was looking for.
Corks Out's range of wines is quite eclectic and not what I am used to seeing in the high street stores so given that I was not familiar with the wines I was very grateful of the advice. Katie and Simon were more than happy to suggest wines within my budget and I also had a look at those beyond my budget. If you like fine wine there's a good selection and I was told a lot of the stock is yet to arrive. You won't find your cheap plonk here but the prices seemed to start at £5.99 so there's plenty of choice.
As well as friendly, knowledgeable staff the store is also very nicely laid out, with lots of open space and clear displays. I'll definitely be back, particularly when I am looking for advice."

"Corks Out" is a business run on well-organised lines and I have been very impressed by the way in which they have made such a successful start to their Chester business.
In particular, we have had a fruitful dialogue about the do's and don'ts of using an outstanding historic building for a business, always a good sign. The results speak for themselves.
I feel sure that, from what I know about the business and their attitude to alcohol - that we should enjoy it but not in excess - that they will apply the same thoroughness and good sense which has brought them thus far. I can vouch for the fact that they clearly do not indulge in any pressure selling or gimmicks - concentrating on the pleasure of wine and its quality.  The whole appearance of their business is unlikely to appeal to people who want alcohol for its own sake and there is a complete lack of the type of advertising and promotion which might attract binge-drinkers elsewhere.
