‘Taste’ - A whole new adventure into the world of wine... Our very own Wine Jukebox!

Now tasting at Chester, Alderley Edge and Stockton Heath!

Alderley Edge became the first of our stores to offer this tasting concept with the installation of two sampling machines, think of it as a wine jukebox!  And, our medieval cellars in Chester followed and now has four... that's an amazing 32 wines to choose from! Stockton Heath also has four, along with a fantastic wine garden to sit and enjoy your glass of wine. New this Spring at Stockton Heath is the wine room, located off the garden area it provides the perfect place to get to know more about what's in your glass! 

The Italian machines, which are the latest in wine technology, are argon sealed units that can keep wines fresh and at the correct temperature for weeks. (around 4-6 wines are changed on a weekly basis to give you regular choice)

The system delivers a perfectly fresh sample into your glass from as little as 30p, right up to the heights of a famous icon wine.  There will be some quirky alternatives and hidden gems in addition to the great wines we all know and love. 

Personal ‘Taste’ cards are credited from as little as £5 and our knowledgeable and enthusiastic team are on hand to guide you and help you find out a little more about what’s in your glass. 

As well as sampling, the system will also pour you a 125ml or 175ml glass of wine from as little as £2.00, which you can consume on the premises in comfortable seating areas.  Or, why not choose a special bottle from our shelves over £10 and pay just £3.50 corkage to sit and have with a few selected cheeses or nibbles. (£5.00 on Champagne)

The idea is to offer you the opportunity to explore a new grape variety or region without spending a fortune, or simply taste before you buy.  

Therefore, if you are fed up with Pinot Grigio, why not try our crisp Gruner Veltliner from Austria with its intense white peach flavours or the famous Vega Sicilia wine from the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. 

Wines in our ‘Taste’ machine change on a weekly basis and each month a number of wines will take on a theme, a particular grape, country, region or producer. Chateau Musar was a popular theme last Nov in Chester.

Private and corporate tasting sessions are available, where we can offer a unique tasting experience for a group of family and friends or to entertain clients.  Why not treat a friend to a ‘Taste’ card as a gift or use as an incentive for staff and clients.

Alderley Edge, Chester, Stockton Heath and Timperley all have on-premise licences now, therefore you can enjoy a glass of your favourite wine or fizz from £2 a glass or puchase your favourite bottle and pay just £3.50 corkage.  More....

Secondly - We will offer you 10% discount on bottle purchases any of the new wines each week, a sort of try first concept with a great discount offering.

And there's more... - We will have local newspapers and a few magazines for you to sit and read whilst you enjoy your favourite tipple!

I had that very morning been reading about Decanter man of the year Giacomo Tachis what a coincidence!!

I just had to try it!!

What a great opportunity to try such an iconic wine, I would recommend it but get there before it goes.
