Corks Out holds four large seasonal tastings a year, its 2 ‘Big Summer Tastings’ in June and its 2 'Big Winter Tastings’ in November. These events give you the opportunity to taste from a selection of up to 250 wines, champagnes and spirits and see our fantastic range of gift items. All this for the same price as an in-store tasting ticket. Places for these bi-annual events sell out quickly so book your tickets early to avoid disappointment! 

These tastings are becoming more and more popular and tickets for the events now sell out very quickly. Whether you are a wine buff, new to wine or just want to find out a little more about what’s in your glass it's a great opportunity to taste new things.

If you haven’t been before here is a little taster of how the evening goes- 

We have around 200 wines, spirits & champagnes on show, not to mention an array of gift ideas to suit all budgets. The wines are set out on tables around the room with an expert behind each table to give you as little or as much information as you wish. You simply come in, pick up a glass and a tasting booklet and choose the wines you wish to taste, everything from £7-£70!! OK, this is a huge range of wines, but you are not meant to get through all of them and each year we try to vary it so you manage to try new things. 

There will be a cheese table available for you to nibble on, just to give you a little rest in between tastings. And for a bit of fun you can try your hand at guessing our Mystery Wine for a chance to win a Magnum of wine on the night. 

At the back of your tasting booklet (which is available to you before the tasting) you will have an order form so that you can purchase wine on the night. This can be either picked up at the store, delivered locally for free, or anywhere in the UK for £5.99.

 

 

Tickets for this event are £15 per person and your ticket price is refunded with any purchase of 12 bottles or more (can be mixed). Most tables around the room will also have their own special offers too to help you make the most of your purchases.

"Dear Ruth 
I have not missed any of your Summer and Christmas wine tasting events since you started and before last night's event I was wondering whether you could maintain the high standard you have set over the last few years. 


As usual I called at the shop before the event to pick up the list of wines for last night's tasting to compare them with the last 2 years, so I could focus on wines I had not tried before. I could find very, very few that I had tried before, so my selection for the evening was large. Bearing in mind my selection focuses on whites, for as you know my palate unfortunately does not easily take to reds, the choice for the evening was immense. In the event, I could not get round all the tables to try all the whites I had selected and missed out 9 of the 22 tables, because I ended up tasting other wines that your knowledgeable staff and the wine experts you had available made me appreciate, including some reds. 
I don't know how you achieved it, but I think last night exceeded your previous excellent events. It was a fantastic evening and I would appreciate a re-run, so I can fill in all my outstanding gaps.
