2007 was an amazing year for Corks Out, being recognised as ‘Best Small Retailer’ in the Visit Chester & Cheshire awards and winning the Warrington Business Retailer award for the second year running.
Corks out has also just recently walked away with not one but two national awards at the Retail Industry Awards, where judges unanimously agreed that Corks Out ‘ticked all the boxes’ as a specialist independent wine merchant.

Corks Out was voted Retailer of the Year at the Visit Chester and Cheshire Awards staged by the North West Development Agency. The judges said: “Corks Out demonstrated a real vision and desire to be the best in its field, with great attention to detail and the highest standards of customer service driven from the top.”

Corks Out won ‘Retailer of the Year’ for the second year running at the ‘Warrington Business Awards’ where judges were once again amazed with the continuing success of her local independent wine business.

The ‘National Retail Industry Awards’ was a double win for Corks Out, winning ‘Independent Off Licence of the Year’ whilst Ruth was awarded the coveted title ‘Independent Entrepreneur of the Year’. The Judges unanimously agreed that Corks Out ‘ticked all the boxes’ as a specialist independent wine merchant and were impressed with its outstanding range and service to both local enthusiasts and corporate businesses.

Corks Out was a finalist this year for the National Spirits Retailing Award at the Drinks Retailing Awards Feb 08 – Judges were impressed at the range of Spirits on offer at Corks Out, especially their Spirits room at the Chester store.
Our awards mean a lot to the Corks Out team and also to the independent wine retail sector as it’s not just about picking a product off a shelf, it’s about service, knowledge of product, passion and enthusiasm from the whole team that make Corks Out stand out above the rest. Service and knowledge is key, something we feel customers rarely get at larger retailers.
Corks Out have once again been nominated for more awards this year - Firstly, we are in the last 4 for the Visit Cheshire & Chester Awards, which we won last year. Decanter Magazine readers have nominated Corks Out for a national award with Decanter Wine Magazine for the best Independent Wine Merchant. Wish us luck and if you voted for us many thanks!! Finally, we have also been nominated for 'North West Specialist Wine Retailer of the year 2008' for the North West Wine & Spirit Association.
