More about us
Corks Out Stockton Heath was established in 2003 by Ruth Yates offering superb wines and spirits and great service with outstanding knowledge and enthusiasm and has quickly built up a loyal following of customers.
A second Corks Out branch quickly followed, located in the middle of Chester, in a beautiful vaulted medieval cellar that has sold wine under many names for more than 300 years. The crypt was built by the Sixth Norman Earl of Chester in the 12th century and the remarkable stone vaulted building on Watergate Street is an architectural attraction for visitors as well as those seeking to buy good wine.
In 2008 Corks Out opened in Timperley, a store similar to Stockton Heath, that sits in the heart of Timperley Village, Altrincham.
It was 2009 that saw the opening of two more stores, Corks Out Heswall on the Wirral in June and Corks Out Alderley Edge in August. Both stores have the Corks Out stamp on them and offer over 2500 eclectic products now as part of their range.
One of Corks Out’s areas of expertise is menu matching. This was featured on Channel 4’s “Come Dine with Me” where Ruth selected wines for a special dinner party.
The huge and eclectic range of over 2500 wines and spirits is also available for mail order and we can arrange next day delivery to you, wherever you are in the UK. Tasting notes can be provided with wines and whiskies bought as a gift as well as any personal message you would like to include.
There are regular free tastings (a whole team of people who like nothing better than waxing lyrical about wine), and food and wine matching skills to help you select the perfect bottle, whether it's for dinner with friends, a wedding or any other event you might have in mind.
