Felton Road was bought by Nigel Greening in 2000, and the winery is now recognised for its organic wines which are highly aclaimed. The grapes are grown solely in the Elms Bannockburn Vineyard with production being undertaken in a unique natural winery using a "hand off" approach. This is overseen by Felton Road's winemaker, Blair Walter, whose previous experience in Burgundy influences the style of wine produced. The result - great Pinot Noir wines from outside Burgundy.
Felton Road Wine is located in Bannockburn, Central Otago in New Zealand, the most southerly wine growing region anywhere in the world. The vineyards sit in a location that is on the very edge of the sustainable viniculture, nestled in small macroclimates surrounded by high mountains, which are snowcapped all year round. These macroclimates consistently combine hot days, cool nights and long dry autumns to create a perfect environment for the growth of fine Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling.
Felton Road produces a number of cult wines including the Felton Road Pinot Noir and the Felton Road Cornish Point. These sell extremely quickly in our stores and are a firm customer favourite.
